Some More Dasher

Ok... So I am a little psycho with this challenge but I love that inspiration picture! I did these two cards for the Diva Inspiration Challenge #72(again) on the Utah Divas International Blog. CLICK HERE to see the inspiration picture for it. I used the Dasher stamp set and the tree is Loads of Love.
I did the first one and decided I wanted it a little different so then I did another. Now I think I have this out of my system and I can move on to something else!
Which one do you like more? I can't decide.

Dasher Snowy Night

Kusudama Flower & Ornament

I saw the directions to make this flower and then make the flowers into an ornament this morning. It has taken me all day to do it, but let me tell you, it was worth it! Do not start this project unless you are prepared to spend a long time doing it and to get sticky fingers. That being said, this is beautiful in person. The pictures look nice but don't do it justice. I asked my husband what he thought and he told me, "That looks like it took a really, really long time."
I changed the colors around from the tutorial and added the beads. The pearls are from the pretties kit and the silver ones I had around. To see the tutorial that I used to make the flowers CLICK HERE. To make them into an ornament CLICK HERE. It takes 4 sheets of 12x12 paper to do this. I used 4 double sided papers that were red on one side and white on the other to do this. I folded half one way and the other half opposite to get this look.

Here are the few things that I added:

I strung the pearl on thick string, looped through the silver bead and back through the pearl.


After I glued my folded paper together(check instructions, link above) I added more Tombow adhesive and put the string down the center. Then Iput the rest of the pieces on to make the flower. The Tombow(green double capped glue) leaves your fingers sticky in the end but it dries really quick and holds great. I would suggest it.


Here is one finished flower with the bead.


You get three out of one sheet of 12x12 paper with one 3x3 piece left over. I did 6 flowers of red and 6 of white. The paper I used was red on one side and white on the other.

Here are the two halves before I put them together.


I threaded the beads on string for the bottom and looped that through my tied ribbon for the top to hang it. I glued it down the center of one half before I put the two halves together.

This project is my Top Note gift box that can fit 4"x6" photos or up to 10 thank you cards and envelopes. This is the perfect gift to give someone for Christmas. You can fill the box with thank you cards and envelopes and then once the person uses them up they can use it to store their holiday photos!

Golf Bag with Cart Card

This is my golf bag with cart card. I saw a card with a similar golf bag done by Stacey Carter and I changed it around a little bit. CLICK HERE to see her card. I thought it needed a golf cart too!

I wrote out the basic directions and I added a few pictures to show some things that might be hard to tell by looking at the photo!



To make the handle of the cart I punched with the slot punch to make the hole in black cardstock and then put it inside my word window punch.


To make the bag I used a piece of going gray in 1 3/8" x 3". I put the end half way into the small oval punch like below and punched. This makes the top of the bag


I put the other side inside the punch to get the rounded shape at the bottom. If you put a piece of scrap cardstock inside the punch the right way it is much easier to get your golf bag piece in.


This is what your bag should look like. You also need a black and basic gray small oval. To get the black sliver, see next photo. Don't forget to sponge the sides of your bag with going gray to give it some dimension!


Once you punch your black oval, put the piece of cardstock back into the punch and just take off a little sliver of the top like shown in the punch.


The black full oval goes in back and next your basic gray oval. Then put on your golf clubs and put the bag over that. Last glue the little black sliver at the edge of the top of the bag to make it look like your golf clubs are actually in the bag. You can sponge to add more dimension on the bottom of the basic gray oval.
The handle is just the word window taped to the black grosgrain and taped onto the back of the bag.

This project is great for a Baby Shower, new baby or for a new neighbor house warming gift! Change up the colors and make it for any holiday! The box is 3 1/8" square by 2 1/4" in height.

Christmas Bow - Ornament

I was looking through the projects on Splitcoast and found this tutorial (CLICK HERE) to make a bow. I changed mine around a little. I used 8- 4" x 1/2" pieces of paper and 4- 3 1/4" x 1/2" pieces of paper instead of what they said. I used a large sized brad to hold the pieces together and left off the top loop of the bow. Pretty nice for wrapping a present or even for an ornament on the tree!

These are the three pieces I used.


I stacked them together with large glue dots alternating the patterns.

Heart Pretties Ornament

While I had the pretties kit out and ornaments on the brain I thought I would play around. I came up with this heart ornament. The paper is 1/2" wide by 4" long of double sided patterned paper, you need four of them. You just put all 4 pieces on the hat pin and starting with the first that you put on you just twist it twice around and put the other end on. I put a few beads in the center to keep them apart and I got a heart! Nice simple little ornament.

Snowflake Pretties Ornament

This ornament was made using the Pretties Kit and the Snowflakes Set #2 sizzlets die cut (The small set of four). You could also do the same thing with the snowflake punch! The ribbon is the white organza ribbon. I used the two way glue pen to get it together and to get the ends together I used a toothpick with the Tombow green capped glue. It was a little tedious but well worth it! It's hard to see in the picture but this is really beautiful and delicate looking.

Here is one snowflake attached to the other. You want to attach half of each to the other and keep going around.


This is three attached together.


Here are all five snowflakes on the hat pin with some beads from the Pretties Kit.

Serene Top Note Card

This card is using the Serene Snowflakes stamp set, the Embossing plates and the Top Note die with some creative folding.

To get the right shape for the card you need a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" paper folded in half to make your card. Fold it in half again like shown below. (Sorry its a little blurry)

Put it in the top note die with the fold on the inside. Put it through the big shot and you will get this.

Opened up this is what you have.

Now spray it with alcohol and put it through with one of the embossing plates folded in half to the normal card shape. This will remove the crease and add the embossed design. This is will be your main card shape.

For the blue in the center I used a 3 5/8" square and folded it in half. I put it in the bottom half of the top note die with the fold to the top.

Once its out I sprayed it with alcohol and put it through again with nothing just to flatten out the crease. (This is before it was flattened)

I used the white taffeta ribbon and dyed it using the brocade blue marker. I stamped two of the large snowflakes using brocade blue and highlighted them with my night of navy marker. I cut part of one out and popped it up with a dimensional in the center of the other with a clear rhinestone brad in the center. I used night of navy paper to highlight the outside of the snowflake.

"Scoring"

My husband and I were cleaning this morning after I had finished cutting paper for my card class tonight. I remembered that I had not scored pieces for one of the projects so I sat down to do it. He came in and asked for help for a minute and asked what I was doing because earlier I had told him that I had everything cut out. I told him that I was "scoring". He gave me a strange look and walked away muttering that "scoring" had a totally different meaning for him.
Just goes to show the difference between men and women. If I told my husband that I had a lot of "scoring" to do this afternoon he would be pretty psyched! Boy would he be surprised when I told him I had finished without him!

Pratt Door Ribbon Wreath

I did a search on splitcoast after I posted my other wreath and found one of a door with a wreath. I knew I had to put my own spin on it. Here is the one that I found.

Build-a-roo Christmas

I decided to put down the punches and actually play with my stamps again! I love this kangaroo set. This is Build-a-roo and the sentiment is The Best Yet, which I think is retired. Of course the Christmas Cocoa DSP. For the shirt I just stamped on the DSP and cut it out and the hat I drew and colored in.

Ornament Punch Angel

I don't usually copy things exactly but in this case it came pretty close! I think the only different thing I did was used Serene Snowflakes as my stamp. Click Here to see Sandi Maciver's original angel and how to make it. She is so cute, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with her yet.

Night of Navy Snowflakes

Ok... so I saw a card on Connie Diebler's site that she did off of a card on Kimberly Van Diepen's site and I just had to put my own spin on it! I did not have almost any of the stamps or accessories that they did so this is what I came up with! (Click on their names to view their cards.)
I used Night of Navy, Kraft and Whisper White cardstock and used the Snowflakes set #2 die cut Sizzlets as my negative stencil. The snowflakes are stamped with Serene Snowflakes and the saying is from the Holiday Best hostess set both in Night of Navy ink. Hope you like it! If you do your own spin on it, link everybody up! Such a great technique!

Ribbon Diagonal Weave for Baby!

So since I had my ribbon out I thougth I would try someting else this morning. I have to admit, getting the weave done on this card did take a long time, but I think it was worth it in the end. So cute for a new baby!
My square is 3 1/2" and I just put snail all the way around the perimeter on the back. I wrapped the ribbon around in one direction and then just weaved the other way through on the diagonal. I attached it to the scallop square with sticky strip. Then just used a sponge with Pretty in Pink for the border. They saying is from Warm Words.

Ribbon Weave Wreath

I am so excited about this card! I love it! I just found a video showing how to do this great technique. When I was a kid I made bracelets this way all the time and someone thought to make it into a wreath! I used Always Artichoke 1/4" grosgrain ribbon for the wreath and Real Red for the bow. The wreath ends up being 3" across. I did use the 6 feet like it said in the video and it came out perfectly. The red dots are red brads just pushed through the ribbon, I thought this would look great with the red rhinestone brads but I don't have any. The white is using the Scallop Circle #2 die cut and the large card is cut using the Scallop Square die cut. The sentiment is in Basic Black using the Holiday Best hostess set. And of course Serene snowflakes, the small one with three snowflakes, in Whisper White craft for the background. I glued the wreath on using the large glue dots and popped up the white scallop with dimensionals.
I thought this would make the cutest ornaments too!
