Downhill for Diabetes Event SUNDAY!

Sorry for my lack of posting this month...
Our Downhill for Diabetes Ski and Snowboard event is this Sunday! I have been working like crazy getting everything ready for it and its going to be great!

The Second Annual
Downhill for Diabetes Charity ski and snowboard event
will be on
Sunday February 26th, 2012
at Pico Mountain Resort in Killington, Vermont.

Participants will raise money to ski or snowboard, similar to a donation walk, just Vermont style! You can donate the money yourself, have a business sponsor you, or collect donations from family, friends and co-workers.
http://www.donationsfordiabetes.org/
If you don't ski or snowboard you can still register and donate on the site to win great prizes and merchandise!

The purpose of this event is to raise money to continue funding research and ultimately come up with a cure for diabetes! For those of you who don't know, my six year old daughter, Ashley, is a Type 1 Diabetic. We need to find a cure for this disease so Ashley, and others like her, don't have to live with this every day of their lives.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event will be donated to diabetes research.
I am hoping that you will be able to help us with this effort!
You must be registered before the event to receive ticket discounts and prizes.

You can see more details or donate on our diabetes website:
http://www.donationsfordiabetes.org/

Punch Art Dress Swap

Since I had so much fun making these dress cards, I decided to make them for my swap for my Green Mountain Stampers meeting today.
This is a great group to be part of, and now its the best time to join since its Sale-a-Bration! That means it's only $125 for the starter package (with over $300 of products in it) and you also get some Designer Series Paper or free digital downloads as well!

See my other dress cards and how to make them by clicking on the images.

Punch Art Wedding Dress

I had so much fun making my other punch art dress card, I just had to switch it up a little and make a wedding dress!
I used the Established Elegance stamp set to stamp the dress form in Soft Suede ink. I used the Heart to Heart Punch, Blossom Petals Punch and Lace Ribbon Border Punch to make the dress.

How to make this card:
First cut a strip of Whisper White card stock and put it through the Lace Ribbon Border Punch. Use the large petal on the Blossom Petals Punch and punch out one in the lace and another of regular white card stock. Do the same with the medium heart. Then just use the Two-way Glue Pen to stick them on top of each other. For the background I just cut strips with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch and glued them to the front of my card in rows.

I used the Labels Collection Framelits from the Occasions Mini for the center shape and some Pearls to accent my dress.

I love these little dresses with this stamp set! SO cute!

Punch Art Dress Form

I saw a card from Annette John with a dress like this on it, and just had to make one. It is so cute and fits perfectly on the dress form stamp!
I used the Established Elegance stamp set to stamp the dress form in Soft Suede ink. The dress is made out of the Heart to Heart Punch and the Scallop Circle Punch. I used the Sale-a-Bration Everyday Enchantment DSP and ribbon for the dress and the Textured Impressions Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder with the Big Shot for the background. I used the Labels Collection Framelits from the Occasions Mini for the center shape.

Valentine Ribbon Heart

Here is a card that I really like that I pulled up from a past post.
I used the same ribbon technique that I used on my Christmas tree card on this heart card for Valentines Day. I used the Music Notes roller for the background and I used the Big Shot with the Serif Essentials alphabet for the love. ( The heart for the "o" is using the Heart to Heart punch.)

Woven Ribbon Birthday Card

I found this great card on Laure Lipe's Blog and just had to make my own version, so here it is! I did this as a birthday card for our wonderful school nurse. It uses a lot of ribbon, but it really comes out nice. I used the 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon to make mine. You can use whatever ribbon you have, you just have to make the card you wrap it around the right size.
I love the little charms!
I used the Elementary Elegance stamp set from Sale-a-Bration to make this card. Something about using a completely free stamp set makes the card even better. Don't you think?

Heart Fingerprint Valentine Card

Here is my Heart Fingerprint Valentine Card! This was so easy to make and so cute with the fingerprints. You can't really tell in the photo, but you can really make out the fingerprints on the card. We are going to do this card at my card class tonight!
To make this, simply cut out the smallest heart from the metal die Hearts Collection. Then use the outside paper (not the cut out heart) to put two fingerprints in. This will make the point on the end and keep them in the heart shape. I used my pointer finger and that seemed to work best.

Heart Flower Frame Card

Here is my card that I made using the Labels Collection Framelits . I love these new metal dies! While I was making the frame, I wanted the edge of the metal to show, so I sprayed my paper with alcohol before I put it through the Big Shot. This makes the outer edge of the metal die come out very pronounced, like you have embossed the center of the frame. The heart flower is from my other card I did that you can see at the bottom of this post.
I used the Everyday Enchantment DSP from Sale-a-Bration as well as the Elementary Elegance stamp set. I also used Loved Ones for the sentiment from the Occasions Mini.

I folded my card and cut my frame out of the inside of the card. Then I put a Very Vanilla piece of paper on the back of the card. This gives you a framed place to write on the inside of the card and you don't have to waste an extra paper to cut the frame out of!

Tasteful Trim Paper Roses Mini Tutorial - FREE!

Here is my Tasteful Trim Paper Roses Mini Tutorial! I saw a picture of flowers somewhere a long time ago made this way, and bought this die to make them. I never got around to it then, and when I sat down to do it, I couldn't find the other picture! So, I have come up with my own way to do this. I'm not sure if it is the same way as in the photo I saw a long time ago, but if it was you who came up with this idea, let me know and I will link you!
These are so simple to make using the Tasteful Trim die! You can get the FREE tutorial below!
I did not have floral tape for the stems, but I think that would make them look better and make it easier to keep the leaves on.

These would be the perfect gift for Valentine's Day for a loved one! I thought they would also make great wedding or prom corsages or boutonnieres. Then you will have them forever!

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cards & Box

Here is my Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cards & Box Project. You can make strawberry cards or paper strawberries* to put in your box!
This would be a great gift for Valentine’s Day, a wedding or for someone special any time of the year!
This box is similar to the box shown on page 9 of the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog. It would go great with the P.S. I Love You stamp set, however you do not need it to make this project.

*The paper strawberries are not my original design. I have seen them many places and thought they would look cute with the box and cards. The directions for them are included in the tutorial for fun.
