March GMS Meeting part3

We had another great Green Mountain Stamper's meeting this past Saturday under my upline Jennifer Heffernan in Addison, Vermont. We have swaps and demonstrations and some of the ladies bring in samples of their work to share. Jen also so wonderfully prepares 3 make-n-takes for us to do each meeting that are always great! Everyone brings some sort of good snack to eat so we have a table of snacks and drinks too.
This is a great group to be a part of! If you are interested in becoming a demonstrator and joining this great group, CLICK HERE for all of the details! You do not need to live close by! You can still participate by doing a long distance swap!
I do have to say that this is a group of GREAT ladies!

Below are only some of the swaps and samples... there are too many to show them all so I try to rotate people each month! Some I don't know who brought, so if they are yours, email me and I will put your name by them! (Sorry!)
Make-n-take

Swap by Shanti McKenna

Swap by Marti Jurnak

Below is one of the make-n-takes we did. The main envelope is 7-1/2" square, folded in half, then half again. Then just cut the bottom two squares on a diagonal and you have your card holder!

March Card Class

These are the cards that I did for my March Three Card Class at my house. We had a big group this time so I kept them pretty simple.
Two of them I got ideas from The Stampin' Up Regionals meeting that I went to this month. The one using the Petals Punch I saw there but don't know who made it since it was on a display board (if it was you, or you know who made it let me know!). The third one I changed the colors a little bit but I got it as a swap from Christopher Famolaro.
Below are the little favors that I made for my ladies so they could have a snack during class! When you pull the ribbon, the candy gets pulled up!

Planter Six Pack

I love Spring! I love going into the stores and seeing all the gardening stuff and I can't wait for our weather to get warmer so I can start playing in my garden. Until then, I guess I'll just have to make projects with the stuff...
I saw these little planter packs at Target, they are $1 each in the front section of the store (about 2" wide). They come with a little planter vase, seed packet and peat pellet. You can get flower ones or herbs. (Or you could just put together your own with little vases or already grown flowers!)
I could not help myself but to make my Six Pack Project with these little planters! This would be such a great gift for a gardener or just someone who cooks and likes to use fresh herbs. You could even give this as a gift with some recipe cards!
I Love Spring!

to see the details for the original project that I used!

For these planter six packs I used the following stamps and supplies along with the Six Pack tutorial:
Fast & Fabulous or Just Believe
Basic Pearl Jewels
Punch Pack
Blender Pens

The colors are:
Old Olive, Concord Crush, Whisper White, Bashful Blue
or
Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Whisper White

Chiropractor Thank You

I made this card as a thank you for the new Chiropractor that I have started to go to. He is great! (If any of you are in the area, his name is Dr. Bruce Steinberg located in Queensbury, NY)

I made the skeleton on the card from my Halloween Punch Three Card Class that you see below. I used brads to hold all the joints together so you could move him around, just like I can now that I have been seeing Dr. Bruce!
He is only attached to the card at one rib/brad spot so he can move all around.

Butterfly Rainbow

I saw a picture of a card in a magazine that used butterflies to make a rainbow, I changed it up a bit, and here is my version of what I saw!
I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit with the Big Shot. The clouds are using the top of the Cupcake punch! The sentiment is from the So Happy For You Sale-A-Bration stamp set. I used a variety of card stock and Designer Series Papers to make the butterflies.
This card makes me want Spring to come sooner!

Taxes Thank You

I have been trying to come up with a card to thank my father for doing my taxes this year (Yes, that's right, I am 30 years old, with a family of my own, and my wonderful father still does my taxes).
I came up with this card, and I am pretty happy with it. I printed a 1040 tax form, that I made smaller off the computer, onto Ivory card stock and then sponged the edges. I thought about the Boston Tea Party and the beginning of taxes so I made tea boxes and then faux wood-grained them with markers and then stamped TEA on them.

I used the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set for the Thanks on the front and then shaded the letters with a marker to make them stand out more.

I made a little pocket with tea bags to go on the inside too!

Scrapbooking with Bright Colors

I decided to go to of my comfort zone and use some bright colors for this page. I think it ended up pretty good, especially in person it looks a lot better then the photos.
I used the 2-1/2" Circle Punch for some of the photos which is the perfect size for scrapbooking!
I also used the large die alphabet for the Big Shot from Stampin' Up which was well worth the purchase. I use these big letters so much, way more then I thought I would.
These pages are of Ashley at her school ice skating program with her friends.

Scrapbooking Rainy Days

I finally have gotten my act together and started some scrapbooking again. Every time I take a break from this and start again I forget how much I love to do it! Of course these pictures are from March 2009 so I'm a little behind!
I had my sewing machine out for something else and saw a project like this in a magazine and got inspired. I love this idea for the rain clouds with the stitching and brads! I used the new Tasteful Trim die with the Big Shot to do the scalloped border at the top, also the Naturally Serif Alphabet for the words. The small clouds are made using the cupcake punch!
Here are some close-ups of the pages.

Boy, are my kids cute! I love how scrapbooking a certain time brings it right back to you like it was yesterday!
