Fast & Fabulous Masking

I think the Fast & Fabulous hostess stamp set might be my favorite set right now. I just got it and I love it!
The colors I used in this card are Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Perfect Plum and Whisper White card stock and Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Perfect Plum ink.
I used the Just Believe Stamp for the sentiment and inked only the 'believe' word with a marker, without the 'd' that's on the stamp and punched it out with the Modern Label punch.

I used masking to make the flower image which means that I stamped my flower on plain computer paper and then carefully cut it out. I then stamped my image again on my card stock and put removable adhesive on the back of my cut out shape. I stuck this over my stamped image and stamped around it overlapping the flower. It does not show up over the main flower because it has the paper over the top. When you remove the paper on the top you then have a stamped image that looks like your main flower is in front of the other flowers.

To make the button I used Perfect plum card stock and punched out five 1" circles. I used two-way glue to stick them together in an even stack. I then punched two 3/4" circles in my paper and cut out the 1" circle centered over it so I had the two outside rings. I used two-way glue to put these on the outside and punched my holes in the middle with the Crop-a-dile. I used the sanding block to sand the outside edges so they are smooth and you can't see the stack of paper edges. I put it on wax paper and then I covered it with Crystal Effects. Once it dries you have a button in any color!

SU 3-D Bird

Here is the three dimensional bird that is on page 173 of the 2010-2011 idea Book and Catalog. I tried to make it from the Stampin' Up template and it didn't work.
I made my own template and wrote a FREE tutorial to make it the right way!
Hope you like it! These are so cute and the perfect use for the patterned paper!

Briefcase Box & Cards Project

This is my new Briefcase Box & Cards Project! The briefcase fits multiples of the computer, calculator and cell phone cards plus envelopes!
This would be a great gift to keep together and give all of the cards in the briefcase or to split up and use the cards for different occasions. What a perfect guy gift for a birthday or Father's Day!
This project is also a great gift for a child. My three and five year olds have been running around talking on their "phones" and emailing on their "computer" and adding on their "calculator" since I first made them! The briefcase even comes to the grocery store with us just in case my daughter needs to make an important "call" while we are there!

You will get templates for all of the numbers, buttons and pieces that you will need.

Just because it was so cute I thought I would share...
Here are my kids talking on their "phones" at breakfast! Ashley didn't want to share the one that I made so she made Timmy his own, that's why his is white. ( She made a perfect copy of mine, buttons and all!) They walked through the grocery store talking on these just like this!

Chicks Card - Punch Art

Here is my Baby Chicks and Mommy card. I used the Bird punch and the Owl Punch to make the chicks on this card. I used the Inspired by Nature stamp set for the grass. I wrote up a mini tutorial to explain how!
This card really reminds me of my two chickies following me around everywhere I go! They keep asking me who the third kid is... so cute!
You can download and print it for FREE below!

Faux Tiled Mosaic

Here is my faux tiled mosaic card. You can get a great tutorial on Splitcoast showing this great technique so I am just going to direct you there to find out how!
The only thing I did differently was I used the leftover pieces from my clear stamps to make the pieces so I could keep them in a spare case and take them on and off my block so I didn't have to keep them on there forever. All you have to do is after you put your clear stamp stickers on, place the rest of the plastic cut out on the rest of the foam and line up the holes. It will fit right on and then you can just cut it up into chunks!

Here is my image before I put the Versamark on it.

And here is the front and back of what my block looked like with the rubber on it.

You Can Re-ink Markers!!!

My mother figured out that you can re-ink your Stampin' Up markers!!!

All you have to do is use a pliers to pull off the larger colored end like I have shown above. You do have to get a good grip and pull REALLY hard. You will not break them, it goes right back in and snaps closed when you are done!

When you get the top off this is what the inside tube will look like. You just take your re-inker bottle and put a bunch of drops of ink right in the hole in the center and let it soak in.

Take the tube out fully so you can re-ink both end for the small and large tips. Once you have inked the center, put it back in and pop the marker end right back in, it goes back in with a click. This works great!! It takes a few minutes after you are done for the color to soak back up to the ends but then its just like having a brand new marker again!
This is great for the retired colors if you still use them and did not buy extra markers or just for the colors that you use a lot!!
