Scallop Circle Fabric Bear

I saw one of these fabric bears at a recent demonstrator meeting that I went to made by Fran Trischetta (who saw it on Shelli's blog), using different sized circles. I wanted to make them using only Stampin' Up dies with the Big Shot, so I made these using the Scallop Circle and Scallop Circle #2 Die Cuts. Needless to say, my daughter is in love with this little bear! He is so cute and little, only about 3" tall.
Here is how I did it!
You will need one large scallop for the body, one medium scallop for the head, and six small ones for the ears, arms and legs. You are going to sew around them, going in and out every scallop with thread. (This is called making a yoyo.) I used the new Flirtatious fabric from the new catalog to make this. You can get yours July 1st!
Now when you pull the thread it will gather the edges like shown below.
You are going to put a little bit of pillow stuffing (or cotton balls) in each one and then pull your string tight and tie it to make these little balls. You want them stuffed pretty full.
Then I just used a hot glue gun to put the head, ears, arms and legs onto the body. I used the Filigree brads for the nose and black brads for the eyes and nose. You might want to put these on before you stuff the head. I did it after and made it kind of tough. Then add the bow and you are finished!

Swap Holder Garden Bag - Perfect for Convention!

Here is my Garden Bag style purse, which perfectly holds over 100 cards. It is the perfect bag to bring to Convention or any Stampin’ Up event to hold your cards to swap! You can also use it to carry along all of your tools and materials!
This bag is large enough to also be great to use as a purse or gift bag for any occasion.

You do not need 12"x12" paper to make this project.

Mommos' Circle Snowman Card

I don't know if you guys have seen these great circle cards that are all over the place now, but my Mommo (and fellow SU demo, Gerry Dyer) came up with a great idea.
She thought it would make the perfect snowman card!
Here is the card that she thought up and I put together. If you are lucky enough to get into a swap with her at convention, you might get one of hers!

First I punched/die cut 1-3/4", 2-1/2" and 3-7/8" circles in Whisper White card stock. Then I sponged the edges with Bashful Blue ink.

Take off the top circle, and you are going to put a brad through the two larger circles, while they are centered on top of each other.

Then put the smallest circle on top and put a brad through this one and the middle size only (not the bottom one). Do this lined up right on top of the other brad like shown. (I changed the color of brads at the end to black and white so they would blend in better.)

Now when you open them up, this is what you have! When they are closed, they fit in an envelope!

For the hat, I used the Word Window and Cupcake (bottom) punch. The circles are from the Cupcake punch also.

The arms are from the snowflake punch and the nose is cut with scissors. When he is all folded up, he looks like he is starting to melt!

My Mommo is so talented!
This would be the perfect card for a Christmas in July class!
