Artisan Award Loser.... #3

Here is one of the five cards that I submitted for the Artisan award. I used the Tulipe die cut (that is retiring!!) with the Big Shot and the Medallion stamp.

I stamped the medallion on my paper first. I then used the Tulipe die to cut a stencil out of cardstock. I placed this stencil over my stamped image and inked it with the Versamark pad. I then clear embossed it. Once that was done I inked around the embossed area (it will not ink where the embossed part is) and then trimmed around the shape. Does that make sense?

Craft Project Central Guest Designer!!

I have been chosen to be a Guest Designer on the Craft Project Central site this month! The project that I made posted today and it is a cheeseburger card! You just open up the bun and you can write your message on the inside. This would be perfect for a picnic or bar-b-que invitation or a great Father's Day card!

Craft Project Central Post

For those of you that have not seen my other post I will be a guest designer on the Craft Project Central site this month! There is a new project posted for June on the Craft Project Central website made by Naoko! It is a great Island Oasis 6 x 6 Scrapbook. Go over to the site and check it out!

Punched Paper Lilies

I saw these great lilies on Shari C's blog. Then on Valita's Fresh Folds site she made a video to show how to make them! They are so gorgeous I decided to make them with my stamping class tonight. This is the card that I am going to do with them!
I changed the colors around a bit and used Pretty in Pink on the fold of the white petals and Melon Mambo for the base of them. I then used the Melon Mambo marker to make the dots on the base of the petals. The center stamen is So Saffron and then certainly Celery for the tips and the end of the center one is Close to Cocoa. The leaves are garden green and sponged with Garden Green down the centers. They are about 3 3/4" long or so and about 1" wide or less. The Best Wishes sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations stamp set that I punched with the Wide Oval punch. The background is the old French Script background stamp in So Saffron but the new one, En Francais is just like it.
Of course this card would not be able to be put in the mail unless it was in a box but I thought it would be perfect to hand deliver with a gift or bring to a wedding. This flower was just too beautiful to not put on a card!

Artisan Award Loser.... #2

Here is my second 3-D project that I submitted for the Artisan award.
This picture is of my hand and my daughters when she was a little baby. I got a white frame and antiqued it with a sponge and some black ink. I used the white StazOn ink with the Things I Love stamp set for the sentiment. I used the butterfly(Beautiful Wings or something like that I think) embossing die cut for the little tiny butterfly and that is on with a mini glue dot. It should hang on the wall from the white satin ribbon bow.

Artisan Award Loser.... #1

I entered the Artisan Award Contest that Stampin' Up has and I lost... bummer. But at least now I can share all the stuff I created with you guys!
Here is on of my 3-D projects that I did. I sewed a large Chocolate chip colored suede pillow and put the burgundy/red fabric square in the center. Then I used the Tulipe die with the Big Shot to cut out brown felt and glue it on the pillow. I used a combination of Tombow adhesive and fabric glue to stick everything on. The ribbon is Vanilla Satin ribbon just bunched up and glued on around the red square. The bad part of entering this contest is that you do all these projects and you don't get your stuff back! Now I have to make another one for my bedroom!

The Tulipe die that I used for this is retiring so if you want one, order it now, don't wait. It's going to be gone soon!

Teachers' Gift - Pencil Holder Cup

I thought this pencil holder cup would be the perfect end of the year gift for my daughters two teachers. She finishes Pre-school this year and moves on to Kindergarten next year! I saw the pencil holder idea on Lorri Heller's blog, such a good idea!
To make this gift I got glasses that have very little angle to the side, no angle would be better but I couldn't find any. I put sticky strip going around them in three places; top, middle and bottom. I stuck all the pencils to that and then reinforced that with some Super Glue. I'm sure a hot glue gun would have worked pretty good too. I glued the ribbon around everything with Tombow adhesive to make sure that all the pencils wouldn't fall off.
I used the Naturally serif alphabet die with the Big Shot for the "chalk" names on the "chalkboards" and I used the Tart and Tangy stamp set for the apples. The plus signs are from the capitol 'X' on the alphabet die cut down.
I love how these came out and I can't wait to give them to Ashley's teachers next week!
