Pull-Out Corn Card

Corn In

Corn Out
(Hee-hee, I know, I'm super mature)

Here is my pull-out corn card!
And yes, I did have a reason for making a corn shaped card besides corn jokes. My husbands Uncle gave us a bunch of fresh corn from his garden the other day and we just had it for dinner. It was really good so the kids thought we should send him a thank you card. Ashley said it should be shaped like an ear of corn... so here we are!

To make this card I cut out the large corn husk out of garden green card stock and the two side pieces out of Wild Wasabi card stock. The corn is cut out of Daffodil Delight. I sponged the edges of the husks with Wasabi ink.

To make the rows of corn I used the scallop edge punch. I just cut a 2" wide strip of Daffodil delight paper and punched the end. I cut that strip off and then did the next and so on.

I sponged the punched edges with Daffodil ink and then glued them down on my piece of corn in rows. For the last row I traced the end of the corn and punched the top (so you wouldn't see the cut edge) and then glued that on top.

I put a very small line of Tombow adhesive along the edge of my back husk shape. I then put the right husk on top. Make sure you stay close to the edge so you will be able to slide your ear of corn in at the end.

Do the same thing for the other side making sure not to overlap on the first side so it will still be loose enough to open.

Let it dry and slip in your piece of corn with your message written on the bottom.
Instant thank you card for free corn!
I thought this would also be cute on a fall scrapbook page... maybe with the journaling on the inside corn card.
I'm sure you will see one here eventually!
